Walther®
The Walther® PPK is a German acronym meaning Polizeipistole Kriminellmodell (Police Pistol Detective Model) and since being introduced in 1931, the Walther® PPK has grown to become one of the most popular pistols among police officers as well as civilian shooters. Chambered in .380 ACP, the Walther® PPK is a blowback operated pistol with fixed sights, a loaded chamber indicator, a fixed barrel, exposed hammer and manual safety with decocking function. With its lightweight design and plastic wrap around grips for added comfort, the Walther® PPK pistol continues to set the standard to which all other compact semiautomatic pistols are compared.

The S&W PPK is much improved over the early Interarms one (never had an original German PPK to compare it to though)
I also have put 500 rounds threw mine with 0 malfunctions, Hollowpoints, flat-tips, jacketed & lead. No problems whatsoever.
The long beavertail on the S&W keeps your hand from getting chewed up. I ditched the cheezy plastic grips for some Hogue kingwood ones. Otherwise there's nothing bad to say about the S&W PPK.

have several walthers German and american ppk and american TPH. I have a PPK made by S&W that I've fired more than 500 times with out single a malfunction. Trigger pull is better than my German PPK. Had a problem to begin with but S&W took care of it. I rate my PPK above other 380 pistols that I own including a browning and a Sig 230. As a matter of fact it's my favorite carry gun in a 380 caliber. Safe, dependable, highly conceivable, in holster or pocket. I give it 5 stars plus.

If I want to go big on assignment, it is my 1911 Colt. If I need to hide as much as I can, it is my Beretta .25. If I am in between, it is the PPK. All are the best of their type...I have 35+ years in the biz. I''m sure many of the new autos are fine, I go with what I know works.
